Amanda & Ross

The Dower House, Knaresborough was the picturesque setting for Amanda & Ross’s wedding. This well established hotel, situated between Knaresborough & Harrogate has long been a popular venue for Yorkshire weddings.

The Dower House can cater for large or small weddings in its various rooms and as a result it is always in popular demand. Amanda & Ross were delighted therefore when they met with Jonathan (the wedding co-ordinator) and found that their date was available.

Amanda chose two good friends Charlie & Louise as her bridesmaids, whilst Ross had the support of Mitch & Kevin.

Beautiful wedding dress

Amanda wore a fitted gown of champagne lace with a jewel encrusted bodice and gently pleated organza shoulder straps.

She had a beautiful flowing full length veil with a jewelled tiara which sparkled in the summer sunshine.

Amanda’s wedding bouquet was of pink gerbas and pink, white and lilac roses. Her bridesmaids carried smaller matching posies.
Ross and the other gentlemen of the bridal party wore pink gerbas in their button holes.

The landscaped gardens of the Dower House provided a scenic backdrop for Amanda & Ross’s wedding photos.

The grounds also provided areas of ample shade to ensure that guests remained cool whilst sipping their champagne cocktails.

It was a fun filled day with plenty of happy smiles from all of the wedding party and their guests.

The lovely wedding cake was made by Louise Jugg for Amanda & Ross, very attractive, very tasty, much enjoyed. Thank you.

Guest favours included scented candles and wild flower seeds to sow as a memento of the day.

Wedding photography was an important part of Amanda & Ross’s wedding. Like many brides, Amanda had gleaned lots of ideas for photos from wedding magazines, so we were happy to oblige her every wish.

Festivities continued in the evening with a disco and buffet for many of the happy couples friends and colleagues.
The disco was supplied by professional DJ Chris, from Yorkshire DJ Beats who kept all of the evening guests entertained with his music.

All that remains is to wish Amanda & Ross a long and happy life together.

So, till next time…

After returning from their honeymoon in the Lake District, Emily & Kevin have now seen their wedding photographs, and are delighted with them, so I am pleased to share some more of their favourites.

As I mentioned in a previous blog, Emily & Kevin were married at All Saints Church, in Kirk Deighton on 1st April.

Many members of Kevin’s family have been married at this church, and Kevin was christened there, so Emily agreed that it was the perfect place for their wedding.

Daffodils were blooming in the churchyard, making the ancient church a very pretty location.

Emily & her bridesmaids set off from the Rudding Park Hotel, after a morning of preparations and excitement. All four bridesmaids wore long gowns in a pretty pastel blue colour, along with matching pashminas which proved a very welcome addition against the chilly wind.

Little flower girl, Lillie-Mae was dressed in a pretty cream lace dress, with a warm furry bolero.

Emily wore a beautiful gown with a lace overlay, and a matching lace bolero. Her bouquet featured very pale pink roses along with carnations, lisianthus and muscari.

The church was full of family and friends, some had travelled long distances (from Nottingham, Lincolnshire and Carlisle) to witness this happy event.

Sadly it was a wee bit too blustery to take photos outside after the ceremony, but we did manage a couple of group shots before rain stopped play!

The Reverend Myra Shackley kindly allowed us to go back into the church to take a few photos inside, whilst waiting for the cars to take everyone to the reception.

After a brief detour to The Rudding Park Hotel, where we were able to take some more stunning photos, we proceeded to the Travellers Rest, Crimple, near Harrogate, where family & friends were already in the party spirit.

The marquee was beautifully set out, and Emily had thoughtfully printed out everyone’s menu choice on the tables.
Kevin, and his father, Keith had skilfully crafted all the table numbers from wood, with tea lights in, which were very unusual.

Also on the theme of wood, Emily & Kevin had joiner’s pencils printed with their names and wedding date on as guest favours.

The guests also were treated to a bag of delicious Harrogate chocolates. Which most people saved for later, as they were so full after the delicious meal.

Still on the wood theme was the wedding cake, fashioned as pieces of wood and adorned with flowers.

So all in all, a fabulous day with a lovely couple…RESULT!

Congratulations to Emily & Kevin

Emily & Kevin, were married yesterday, on April the 1st.

Harrogate Wedding Couple followed the family tradition

The couple were married at All Saints church, Kirk Deighton at 2pm.

Their wedding was the latest to follow in the family tradition of weddings at this pretty village church.
Many members of Kevin’s family have been married here, including his parents, Keith & Gilly and grandparents Charles and Kathleen.

Sadly the weather was too blustery to make full use of the vintage Alvis car (approx 90 years old), which had been kindly loaned to them for the afternoon.

The bride was attended by four bridesmaids and a cute little flower girl, Lillie Mae.

After the service a reception was held at the Travellers Rest, Crimple, Harrogate.

Here’s a few wedding photos from the day.
